Rahul Gandhi dances on Tribal beats
On Friday Congress leader Rahul Gandhi dressed just like the dancers, placing one foot gingerly before another while prodding at a magnificent looking drum.
When it was over -- and the headgear had to come off -- the ex-Congress president looked elated. He clearly enjoyed himself.
Rahul Gandhi took aim at the Centre, criticizing the "sagging economy" and saying India couldn't be run without involving every section of society.
He called demonetization, the National Population Register and National Register of Citizens (the government says there have been no talks on a pan-India register) a tax on the poor.
Rahul Gandhi's Congress party and the Opposition have been going hammer and tongs at the government at a time when the Centre is facing an economic slowdown as well as furious protests against its controversial citizenship policies.
And they haven't minced their words while going on the offensive -- on this front, at least, they have displayed none of the tentativeness evident in Rahul's footwork.
