PM Modi and ministers practices social distancing at Cabinet meet
Amid complete lockdown in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday chaired a Cabinet meeting on the novel coronavirus outbreak.
PM Modi, who has been stressing on the importance of social distancing to curb the spread of Covid-19, was seen practicing it during the cabinet meet at his residence.
All ministers were physically present at the PM’s residence for the Cabinet meeting and were seen sitting at a distance from each other.
Prime Minister Modi discussed the nationwide lockdown and measures to control the coronavirus pandemic that has already claimed 11 lives in the country.
The meeting came after PM Modi announced complete lockdown across the country for 21 days and urged Indians to practice social distancing at all cost.
India has so far recorded 560 confirmed cases of coronavirus with around 40 having recovered and discharged from hospitals.
In a drastic move on Tuesday night, PM Modi addressed the nation at 8 pm and announced that the entire country will go under lockdown from Wednesday for 21 days.
The Centre has asked the state governments to ensure unhindered operation of essential services and their seamless availability for the general public during the 21-day lockdown period announced to deal with the coronavirus outbreak.
